É«ÖÐÉ« awarded more than $6 million in grants to 49 school districts for the NYSMBK Family and Community Engagement Program.ÌýThese grants will support programs to increase the academic achievement and college and career readiness of boys and young men of color while fostering the development of effective relationships with families to promote the success of all students.
Ìý
Some examples of programs includeÌýprofessional development on cultural responsiveness and awareness, equity, and inclusion; fatherhood programs; home visits; mental health and wellness workshops; and academic parent/teacher teams. The program also provides translation services, mentoring, and an array of supports for summer learning and college readiness.
